Full fuel excise returns Monday — petrol set to rise about 17 cents a litre

The full excise of 52.6 cents per litre returns from Monday 3 August, adding roughly 17.5 cents per litre to petrol and diesel. Prices have already risen 20 cents per litre in some capitals over the past two weeks as global oil climbs. A further inflation-linked adjustment to the excise also applies.
